How we can help you cover the 2024 elections:

Big Local News is developing a set of tools you can use to bring more election data into your reporting:

• Voting machine data: Verified Voting provided data focused on voting equipment being used in many jurisdictions from 2012 to 2024. This data goes through what kind of voting machines each county has 

• Data about first-time voters: Big Local News has partnered with the Deliberative Democracy Lab at Stanford University to work with a national sample of first time voters who deliberated in Washington, DC in July 2024. The voters were surveyed before and after the event about the following topics: Energy and the Environment; The Economy, AI, and Taxes; Health Care; and Democracy and Elections. Those voters are also open to being interviewed and represent all 50 states.
