Information Futures Lab Election Crisis Workshop

Information Futures Lab

About our organization:

The Information Futures Lab (IFL) at Brown University works to improve local information ecosystems and support people in effectively accessing, creating, and making sense of information that is crucial to their wellbeing.

How we can help you cover the 2024 elections:

Our election crisis workshops are online immersive training events that place journalists and community leaders at the center of a fast-moving, breaking election story and challenge them to make strategic reporting decisions in real-time. In teams, participants respond to common and emerging challenges, such as AI-generated deepfakes, rumors, voter suppression campaigns, and language barriers, with the objective of helping audiences navigate the onslaught of information and avoid confusion. Each session ends with a reflection on how to equitably distribute critical information during an election and public health emergency, and best practices for responding to the unique information needs of our communities with nuance and consideration.   More information: Register to participate here
