Sunlight Search, led by Jim Mintz and Brandi Swicegood, seeks to strengthen democracy through accountability research on political candidates.

How we can help you cover the 2024 elections:

Sunlight Search is offering a research desk to help your newsroom conduct deep background research on political candidates. We will pull documents, analyze data, and produce a timeline and source list that will help your reporters put together impactful stories about candidates your readers need to understand before the election. We can provide specific research on up to three candidates for your newsroom. 

What you should know: This resource is limited to 10 newsrooms. Anyone can apply, but we’ll give priority to newsrooms in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
