Princeton's Bridging Divides Initative: Community Response Case Studies

The Bridging Divides Initiative

The BDI team conducts interview research in communities across the country to better understand the local realities of political violence in the United States and elevate positive responses. Each case study is structured around drivers of conflict and community mitigation strategies in a particular town or region. This research can offer meaningful analysis of local conflict dynamics and highlight approaches taken by communities on the front lines of these challenges. For journalists, these case studies can help contextualize political violence trends at a local level and provide examples of mitigation strategies to inform coverage of risk and response in other communities facing the threat of political violence.

About our organization: BDI is a non-partisan research initiative that tracks and mitigates political violence in the United States.

How we can help you cover the 2024 elections: We are available to provide briefings and to discuss other potential case studies, as well as broader lessons learned for community-oriented risk mitigation and crisis response strategies.
