Princeton's Bridging Divides Initiative: Geographies of Risk and Resilience

The Bridging Divides Initiative

BDI’s Geographies of Risk and Resilience mapping platforms are a set of interactive tools that allow users to identify hotspots through dynamic analysis of high-risk geographies, assess response capacity and allocate resources, and connect with organizations and resources to mitigate risk. Journalists can use these tools to explore data on demonstrations and political violence incidents in your coverage areas and link up with local groups working to respond to threats and build resilience.

About our organization: BDI is a non-partisan research initiative that tracks and mitigates political violence in the United States.

How we can help you cover the 2024 elections: These tools are still in development and will be refined and expanded in the coming months. BDI will pilot broadening access to our County-Level Risk Index, as well as integrating our interactive mapping tools into a new Layers of Resilience visual and data effort for practitioners and researchers seeking to understand the response ecosystem in detail. Because BDI collects and monitors sensitive information on political violence risk in real time, not all data and analysis is made publicly available on our website. If your situation requires further resources that are not listed here, please contact us to see how we can help.
