About our organization: Big Local News gathers data, builds tools, and collaborates with reporters to help local newsrooms tell more stories that use public records about policing, public health, government and other vital topics.

How we can help you: Big Local News provides real-time data journalism assistance, from scraping or requesting data, to help with analyzing or vetting data. BLN can point journalists to resources, such as first-time voters, campaign finance data, demographic data and context on voting regulations. BLN’s Data+ membership provides skills development and regular mentoring tied to elections-related coverage through January 20. Participating newsrooms will have access to quarterly virtual office hours for additional elections-related support throughout 2025.
