Based on our conversation last Friday, I am providing an estimate to provide public records in response to part 4 of you request, as explained below.  I appreciate the conversation to attempt to clarify and narrow your request. I am providing an estimate to provide a single schema from a data base that you identify. The City will then use that work to further refine the estimate for the remaining schema. The City may be the custodian of at least some of the requested public records and the estimated fees for the specific sub-request is listed below.  Records will not be provided until the final amount is paid.  If the final amount incurred is less than the estimate, you will only be charged actual costs.  If the work significantly exceeds the estimate, the City will contact you with a new estimate. 1. Underlying engine (eg, postgres, mysql, mariadb, cockroachdb, Mongodb, Oracle database, sybase, MSAccess, SQL Server, VoltDB, RethinkDB, Chronos, Elasticsearch, etcd, cassandra, etc) Records provided, this portion closed. 2. Schema of database (preferably, with granularity down to column names) The City proposes to pull one schema from a database you select.  This would allow the City to refine its estimate before providing and estimate for all it for the different database schema.  It would also allow you to see the records provided before deciding on which databases you would additional information.  You also indicated that you are more interested in some databases.  After we use this single schema as a test case, you could provide the City with a prioritized list so we can do the work in order of importance. The City estimates that it will take 2 hours at a rate of $78.15 per hour to pull schema, evaluate whether information is exempt and redact that information, review the security profile to determine whether major version information can be released. If there is a known vulnerability in the version, then publicly identifying that version is the version the City uses could identify a security gap. Additionally, it is possible requested information related to schema may be exempt from disclosure as noted in our earlier response. The City could gather records and determine that information is exempt. Oregon public records law allows the City to charge for its time to gather and redact records, even if no records or highly redacted records are provided. Finally, not all databases may have existing reports to produce the schema. The City is not required to create records or program new reports, only to use existing ones. If you request schema for databases which do not have existing methods to provide schema the City will have to notify you that for that database, no records exist. The City may be the custodian of at least some of the requested public records and the estimated fees are $ 156.30.  Ten business days after the deposit is paid and you have identified the database from which a schema should be pulled, the records will be ready. However, they will not be provided until the final amount is paid.  If the final amount incurred is less than the estimate, you will only be charged actual costs.  If the work significantly exceeds the estimate, the City will contact you with a new estimate. If you disagree with this approach and would like to pay a deposit for all the applications at once, please let me know and I will create a different payment. By paying the 50% deposit, you are confirming this estimate and agreeing to pay the cost of fulfilling this public records request according to the conditions set forth by the City.  The costs may include the cost of locating records, reviewing records to redact exempt material, supervising the inspection of records, copying records, certifying records and mailing records, including the cost of searching for records.  We will not be working on your request until we receive the 50% deposit. Based on our conversation last Friday, I am providing an estimate to provide public records in response to part 4 of you request, as explained below.  I appreciate the conversation to attempt to clarify and narrow your request. I am providing an estimate to provide a single schema from a data base that you identify. The City will then use that work to further refine the estimate for the remaining schema. The City may be the custodian of at least some of the requested public records and the estimated fees for the specific sub-request is listed below.  Records will not be provided until the final amount is paid.  If the final amount incurred is less than the estimate, you will only be charged actual costs.  If the work significantly exceeds the estimate, the City will contact you with a new estimate. 1. Underlying engine (eg, postgres, mysql, mariadb, cockroachdb, Mongodb, Oracle database, sybase, MSAccess, SQL Server, VoltDB, RethinkDB, Chronos, Elasticsearch, etcd, cassandra, etc) Records provided, this portion closed. 2. Names of software that connect to each DBMS Records provided.  You raised additional concerns about not being provided with version information, that issue is discussed further below.  However, this request states a request for names of software, not versions. 3. Names of departments that use information within the DBMS Records provided, this portion closed. 4. Schema of database (preferably, with granularity down to column names) See below for estimate. 5. Contract identifier for each database, if relevant Not relevant. 4. Schema of database (preferably, with granularity down to column names) The City proposes to pull one schema from a database you select.  This would allow the City to refine its estimate before providing and estimate for all it for the different database schema.  It would also allow you to see the records provided before deciding on which databases you would additional information.  You also indicated that you are more interested in some databases.  After we use this single schema as a test case, you could provide the City with a prioritized list so we can do the work in order of importance. The City estimates that it will take 2 hours at a rate of $78.15 per hour to pull schema, evaluate whether information is exempt and redact that information, review the security profile to determine whether major version information can be released. If there is a known vulnerability in the version, then publicly identifying that version is the version the City uses could identify a security gap. Additionally, it is possible requested information related to schema may be exempt from disclosure as noted in our earlier response. The City could gather records and determine that information is exempt. Oregon public records law allows the City to charge for its time to gather and redact records, even if no records or highly redacted records are provided. Finally, not all databases may have existing reports to produce the schema. The City is not required to create records or program new reports, only to use existing ones. If you request schema for databases which do not have existing methods to provide schema the City will have to notify you that for that database, no records exist. The City may be the custodian of at least some of the requested public records and the estimated fees are $ 156.30.  Ten business days after the deposit is paid and you have identified the database from which a schema should be pulled, the records will be ready. However, they will not be provided until the final amount is paid.  If the final amount incurred is less than the estimate, you will only be charged actual costs.  If the work significantly exceeds the estimate, the City will contact you with a new estimate. If you disagree with this approach and would like to pay a deposit for all the applications at once, please let me know and I will create a different payment. By paying the 50% deposit, you are confirming this estimate and agreeing to pay the cost of fulfilling this public records request according to the conditions set forth by the City.  The costs may include the cost of locating records, reviewing records to redact exempt material, supervising the inspection of records, copying records, certifying records and mailing records, including the cost of searching for records.  We will not be working on your request until we receive the 50% deposit.
